HEAD OF CHILDREN?S SERVICES

The Head of Children?s Services (HCS) will have overall
responsibility for the leadership, management and delivery
children?s services in the CRC. At this critical time of significant
service change the HCS will provide leadership and direction to the
provision of the non-specialist children?s services across the CRC.

The HCS will be responsible for the development of the Community
Disability Network teams for the CRC and for the integration and
establishment of the teams through the Community Disability Network
Managers (CDNM). The successful candidate will ensure the development
and oversight of the nursing and social work services, for the
clinical administration services, for the development in supporting
family and client engagement and for the development of family support
services.

APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* A professional qualification in health or social care, e.g.
Dietetics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology,
Speech and Language Therapy and Social Work, and where appropriate be
registered or be entitled to be registered on an appropriate
professional register OR a primary degree in another related area e.g.
Business with significant operational experience in a health or social
care setting.
* A minimum of 3 years? experience in a management role in a
healthcare or social care environment with clear responsibilities for
the directing and planning of departmental activities in conjunction
with the management of staff and resources available
* Experience of managing within a multi-disciplinary team
environment is essential
* An in depth and working understanding of the implementation and
application of Progressing Children?s Disability Services and an
ability to lead change initiatives
* A post graduate management or business qualification is desirable
